The Double Bass Symposium XXVI is an event for all levels of proficiency from Middle and High School to professional.

It will take place February 3rd through 5th, 2017.

Maps, schedules, and information concerning special hotel accommodations will be sent with confirmation of pre-registration.

All events will be held at the School of Music in the new Performing and Visual Arts Complex at the University of Georgia.

Ample parking is available free of charge. Contact Milton Masciadri to obtain a parking permit.

For non participants there is an admission fee of $ 8.00 dollars for friday and saturday night performances.

The  Milton Romay Masciadri Tuition Scholarships

Milton Romay Masciadri, Father of the Symposium director, was one of the best well know Double Bass Pedagogues in Latin America and Scholarships have been set up by his former students that today are well known bassists at Universities and Symphony Orchestras around the world.

2 Tuition schoarships will be awarded

Teachers wishing to recommend a student may write a letter of recommendation to Dr. Milton Masciadri Symposium Director

Becky Roberts Scholarship

This will be offered to a Bassist in College that fulfils the ideals of Becky as a double bass performance major. Deadline: 01/11/2017

Barbara E. Roberts received her music education at Eastman School of Music, University of Maryland and University of Georgia, where she obtained the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts degree in double bass performance. She has studied with Peter A. Mercurio, the late H. Stevens Brewster, Jr., the late Oscar G. Zimmerman, and Milton W. Masciadri. As an orchestral bassist, Ms. Roberts has performed with numerous orchestras throughout the United States and abroad. Additionally, Ms. Roberts presents recitals and master classes throughout the United States.

Student biographies will be accepted until January 11th, 2017.
